Drawing as Research
The following are my final works from a course I took with artist Molly Springfield called Drawing as Research. I found it to be one of the most valuable classes I had the opportunity of taking. These are collages of my notes from the semester including my doodles. I used an OCR website to scan them and distort the text. These quotes are from the syllabus.
"The actual works of art are the ideas.” —Joseph Kosuth (1967) "How do visual artists conduct research? How do artists draw from literature, philosophy, history, science, politics, popular culture, and other fields to inform their work? And how do they translate that research into a visual experience for their viewers?"
